Central Sleep Apnea

Have any of the patients here been diagnosed with Central Sleep Apnea? Is it part of the REM Sleep Disorder? How is it addressed? Thanks

Hi, my friend was referred to a sleep clinic and given a CPAP machine to wear to at night . That might be something to look into.

My husband has MSA-C and was diagnosed with Severe Sleep Apnea 2 years ago. He was issued with a CPAP machine and wears a mask at night and this has made an enormous difference to his quality of life. Prior to his diagnosis he had such disturbed sleep and would thrash around, this all settled once he began using the CPAP machine. Also he would sleep the day away prior to diagnosis but he became much more alert once he started using the CPAP machine.

yes I have been diagnosed with it and use a CPAP machine. It is often one of the symptoms of MSA

I have just been referred to a sleep clinic. My wife says I talk and thrash around and stop breathing a bit sometimes. I’ll let you know what they say!

How did your sleep study go? Do you have REM disorder? Hope things are going well for you.

Hi 😊 I haven’t done the sleep study yet. I’ll let you know how it goes. I think I’ve REM sleep disorder, but we shall see what they say - I could be wrong!
