Does anyone have experience of difficulty finding glasses that work effectively? My husband had neck dystonia so can't move his head very much and is finding it very tricky to get glasses (long and short distance). We've tried several pairs now and none of them work well which increase his feelings of imbalance. We've asked our GP to refer to an opthalmologist at the hospital but they have said they can't help.

Adrienne had the same problem. Very difficult to do any kind of eye test although her ophthalmologist tried very hard. He concluded that the best he could do for her was to leave her distance glasses alone and fit prisms to her reading lenses so her focus was at knee length so she could read and see a tablet on her lap to watch tv, etc. She couldn't read so much because of tremor, but did watch programmes (mainly on a laptop set up on front of her - chair/commode, and, flexibly height wise an ironing board!). This worked, but I'm afraid her eyes have deteriorated since. She still does see, but listens mainly to the odd programme. We also have Audible and Libby on her tablet for audiobooks. She listens to them a lot. Bit of a protracted answer, but, in a nutshell - prisms. Ian
I wear prisms but have to wear a second pair on top for closer work
My husband had similar issues. Though not a perfect solution he had varifocals for general use and a pair of reading glasses for reading . good wishes.
personally, I have prisms but I am n due another eye test. The Hospital have said I’ve got the correct prisms and the optician does not understand! I think they don’t understand MSA.
