my husband who was diagnosed with MSA – C in 2017 started to have low pulse two weeks ago. From the high 40s to to the low 40s. Before that it was in the 50s to the 60s for six months or so. Today he started having real more difficulty, chewing and swallowing.

Has anybody else experienced post?

Datesandwalnuts Hi

A resting heart rate of 40–60 beats per minute is common for some healthy people unless they suffer from Fainting, Dizziness, Shortness of breath, Fatigue, and Chest pain when this becomes dangerous. So, if your husband suffers from these symptoms, you need to consult your GP. Swallowing problem must not be taken lightly. Thickeners need to be started off immediately in liquids. Further, please consult SALT for solid food modifications and press for modified Barium meals test. You may be advised exercises for chewing and swallowing. We need to utilise these exercises to the fullest possible extent though they are only meant for temporary relief and work only for as long as they are effective. Unfortunately, there are no medicines for swallowing problems. Best wishes to you and your husband.
