On Friday morning I had a gut feeling Richard was unwell . I did his OBS and still felt a little unsure . His urine output was a third of his usual amount though as well . I rang the Dr and he sent a lovely Paramedic out . He diagnosed a possible UTI and chest infection . Urine has gone to the lab for result tomorrow . I started antibiotics , pushed more fluid than usual as he always has 2 litres and rang the respiratory help line . I asked if the Carbocisteine could be increased for a few days . Also his cough assist doesn't really help so I asked if it could be turned up . The lady advised me how to do this and I’m using it twice a day . I’ve taken OBS every few hours and I’m pleased to say I’m quietly confident I caught it early . He is much better but I won’t completely relax for another day or so . I’m the mouse and the MSA is the cat . I feel just about to to be run out and bitten and I JUST manage to escape . The trouble is one day that cats going to be to quick, strong and clever and it’s going to beat me and so I only survive for now . This is so cruel I’m strong on the outside but inside I’m crying and steaming and so frightened .

All I can say is that you are doing your very best 👌 but I know that feeling of trying to keep on top of it all. It's very draining. I hope you are managing to look after yourself as well. Sending love ❤ and strength to you. xxxx
I've always felt this beast is harder oñ the carers than the patients some of the tìme.It sounds to me that you're doing a woñďerfuĺ job and Richard is very lucky to have you. Put out a pĺatè of Whskas with something horrible in it and that'll teach the cat a lesson. Stay strong you can do this but only if you look after yourself as well.
Love Sùe xx
So sorry, I was always so scared, all we can do is stick with it. Sending love.
You are doing an amazing job. Keep strong but it's ok to not be ok too. Sending strength and good wishesH
😘🤗😘
You are doing a great job! We become paramedics almost by accident.Don’t forget to give MSA the finger every now and then.
Do try meet up with friends - ours were towers of support!
I know exactly what you mean. We had sepsis to deal with because of an infection. When Peter was in hospital i realised we didn't have a base line of what was his normal range. When we finally got him home i began to take regularly daily records. The usual BP, HR temp urine output and saturation rate. It turns out Peter is on average on 90% on room air. With encouragement or dare i say nagging him to take deep breaths we can get him to the dizzy heights of 95%..Thankfully he is better but he is weaker and is more fearful of ever going into hospital again. I think you are right, its good to keep some records, then we can work out if things are going wrong sooner. Peter is always complaining i treat him like a patient and not like a husband... But he's here because i don't want to be complacent. The joy of MSA. Kind regards Sharon xxx
