Covid jab or not?

Hello, just posting for the first time. Just wondering if it’s advisable to have the Covid jab? My husband was diagnosed with MSA-C a year ago, and the main challenge at the moment is balance. What do people think about possible effects of the Covid vaccination? Should he have it or not?

hi! I have had all the jabs with no problem at all. (Diagnosed MSA-P 2.5 years ago, but balance has always been a big problem).

Obviously everyone is different, but generally infections and bugs of any sort set me back quite significantly, so I tend to accept any protective measures available.

Good luck!

Hi Gill, thank you for your response - it was really helpful. Good luck to you, too!

Hi

Sue and I have both flu and COVID every winter as the biggest threat to life with MSA is a chest infection, so any help to resist this is worth it 100%.

We also take vitamins daily as a supplement.

We are 8 years since diagnosis and she can still moan at me..

Glad your wife can still moan at you! Thank you for responding to me. We will go ahead and have both jabs. It clearly makes sense.

Hello Clumberdoodle. Both my wife (MSA-C diagnosed 2019) and myself have had both Covid and flu jabs with no adverse effects. We take any vaccines that are offered to us.

Hello Andy, thank you for your reply. It’s much appreciated and there seems to be a consensus regarding the sense in having the Covid and Flu jabs, so we will both have them. Thanks again.

My husband has MSA-C, all jabs up to date, no issues, not even a sore arm. We'll take anything that may lessen the infection risk.

Thank you so much for replying. We will definitely go ahead and both have Covid and Flu jabs.

I got the pneumonia vaccine last week. My doc recommended that first, then flu, then Covid as fewer people are currently being hospitalized for Covid. Just one recommendation I thought I’d throw into the mix.

Thanks so much. We will now try and get the pneumonia vaccine too.
