The BBC are reporting today that a test for PD is 'in-sight. Will this though make an earlier diagnosis for MSA more probable?

Not so much in-sight as in-the-nostrils... 😉. Interesting. My husband does smell differently now, but I put that down to all the different drugs and him being so desperately ill. Has anyone else noticed a difference in the smell of their loved ones?
Hello, yes we also noticed that in my husband, and like you we put it down to a number of factors. I never thought to mention it to health care professionals, perhaps we should be more switched on to seemingly random symptoms. Like the lady who was able to detect Parkinson’s with 100% accuracy through smell, who knows what else is out there and being missed in the early stages of disease, etc.
Best wishes.
Hi - I am a bit late to this but before M was diagnosed he had a couple of encounters with dogs which completely confused him. He had always owned dogs and got on with them but one in particular started to growl at him for no apparent reason. Also his sisters dog which he had known v well , took for walks etc reacted v strangely to him and growled when he saw him for the fist time in months after his diagnosis. It was so unlike the dog it was v strange. We are now sure that both could ‘smell’ something wrong.
there is actually research that supports this! understandinganimalresearch...
