Have any of you had professional support as a couple? If so, where would you recommend we look? (We are London based, but would also consider video sessions).
I’ve progressed mercifully slowly over the 16 months since my MSA diagnosis, but my partner and I are very aware of the challenges to come and of the need to make the most of the present.
We’d like to do some therapeutic work together now to talk about the journey ahead - our different coping strategies, hopes and needs etc.
I thought that plenty of counsellors would specialise in that sort of support (especially as it relates to any life-limiting condition and isn’t MSA-specific), but have drawn a blank so far.
All suggestions gratefully received!
Take care,
Gill

possibly try your local hospice for counselling services or other organisations like macmillan that deal with terminal illnesses. They might not offer couples therapy as such but will be very aware of the issues that you need to work through.
Hi Gill , my husband Phil, has MSA and I contacted our local Marie Curie hospice where he attends one morning a week. Although we have not had any couple therapy as such they always ask how I am and make it clear that they are available to talk if needs be. Definitely would recommend you do the same.
Sue and I have found the local hospice an immense help as they understand life changing conditions and the emotional help needed to make best of a very challenging condition.
