Here we go again...

My poor Dad has just been rushed into Cheltenham hospital. Wasn’t responding to anyone, breathing but was being pumped with oxygen.

He only came out of hospital the first week of the New Year after 9 days. He had aspiration pneumonia.

This is an evil disease.

So very sorry to hear. My thoughts are with you all.

This is altogether too real for me. I aspirated food while visiting my daughter and husband (and my newest grandson!) over Xmas in Columbia SA. My lungs and breathing haven’t been the same since.

My body never was able to acclimate to being 10,000 ft above sea level. Three years ago I was able to visit and had no problem beyond normal, but this has been a totally dreadful experience with the exception of seeing my Baby’s baby!!!

I’ll admit I’m scared, it no longer works to be cavalier about it,

Thanks all. For the last couple of weeks that I even found this and joined, I’ve found some comfort in reading other people’s stories, worries, sad news, good news, whatever it’s been, it’s helped in some way.

I wish you all the best in all your journeys whether you’re the patient or the care giver and I hope you can all sustain good health for as long as possible.

My marathon runner of a Dad certainly run a marathon all day yesterday. What a strong heart that man has 😭

Zoe

I know how you feel, my Sue has been on and off antibiotics since October. Yesterday chest pains resulted in a visit to the doctor's and then hospital.. luckily not the heart or blood clots or pneumonia but pleurisy.... back on antibiotics...

Roll on spring and summer.....
