Morning all, the answers to this is yes/maybe, but only if your platelet are under control. This is how I found out that I had ET. Was about to go into theatre for my bypass when they decided that I had something wrong with my platelet and the op was cancelled on advise of the doctors. Since then my doc told me when the platelet are back in a near normal range the op can go ahead with close supervision afterwards. It was a bit of a shock to find out this way and disappointing that this was not pick up before with all the blood test I have had leading up to the op and waiting nearly a year for it but the risk was to high to take, so now I am on medication to reduce the platelet and hope they will be down soon so the op can go ahead........
