Fatigue issues taking Eltroxin combined with Hydroxy for ET

Wonder if anyone else with ET on this forum has had additional challenge managing intense fatigue when taking Levothyroxine, trade name Eltroxin, a thyroid hormone supplement, combined with Hydroxy 500mg daily? Started Eltroxin February this year. Previously well managed situation. Now life is more of an unpredictable fatigue roller-coaster.

Theoretically, the levothyroxine should improve fatigue when the fatigue is caused by the thyroid issues. It is true that levothyroxine and hydroxy can both cause dyspnea. Perhaps there could be a combination effect. Suggest that you review this issue with both the MPN Specialist and the endocrinologist.

Please do let us know what you learn and how you get on.

Many thanks for your helpful suggestions. I intend to follow up tomorrow with my GP in relation to an endocrinologist, and also with my Haematologist in relation to a MPN Specialist. Determined to find if there is a solution, or partial solution to fatigue issue.

Yes, I have been diagnosed with ET. Suffer with extreme fatigue, but I also suffer with Fibromyalgia. I also am struggling with headaches. GP and Haematologist have said it should improve with the Hydroxyurea! 🤞

Sorry to hear this. Fatigue also makes it I difficult to find the energy to deal with the problem and identity possible ways forward.

Im on both meds, thyroxine for 25 years, hydroxy couple of months.Half the time I dont know whether its the ET, the meds or fibro. Or plain old...getting older

Possibly everyone is different. However now question the ready acceptance of getting older as the reason for any condition since this influenced my thinking on symptoms which were later finally diagnosed as ET.
