If you have ET you can do 23and Me for free as researchers are trying to discover more information about our rare disease. My Hematologist also told me at my last appointment that studies are showing that this disease is on the rise for people 35-50 years old, not just people 60+ (I'm 38 years old). Below is the link....

We've had recent threads discussing this type of testing. In particular the 46/1 haplotype is likely relevant to MPN but is found mostly through the sort of gene tests 23 and me does rather than from our regular gene tests.

It's surprising they are not offering this for the other MPNs.

Is this just for people in the US? Looks like it is but wasn’t sure if I was missing something.

23andMe study only for US sadly. I hope it’s useful and gets rolled out to UK and other countries, it’s a great idea. Fingers crossed!

Question...do we get information about our health and ancestry for free or do we have to pay extra for that?

I’m not sure. I’m assuming it’s the basic pack (mine is on the way) so I can let you know when I receive it.

I just got an email stating "You will receive a 23andMe Health + Ancestry Service kit" so I think it is both.
