I know people on here have developed skin cancers, which we are warned about, since starting on ET treatments but the only research I’ve found was based on a small cohort that took no account of previous sun exposure.
Does anyone know of any detailed studies of the link between ET/hydroxy and skin cancer. I’m not planning to change my behaviour but I’d like to better understand the level of risk.

I've been thinking along the same lines but I don't know if or how much research has been carried out.I am a natural tanner and have only used a small factor sun block...now my wife is 'attacking' me with factor 50+
I,same as you ,am a natural tanner. I have so much melonin(spelling I know is wrong).I am also taking hydroxurea and concerned about skin cancer but not overly worried. Sometimes I think this sun block issue is kind of ,hate to say it ,stupid to some degree. I am 70 and when I was young the only thing we had was Dark Tanning oil.lol
hi lpadlin, this video of one of our vlogcasts might help you, it is a conversation with Dr Nauman Butt, who talks to Nona about side effects of MPNs and medications, particularly skin complications of itch (pruritus) and skin cancers. Dr Butt talks about the increased risk factors for skin cancers (non-melanomas) for MPN patients from sun exposure and some treatments, mainly Hydroxycarbamide and Ruxolitinib (dependent on dose and length of treatment)
