might anyone please have any experience of a venesection at home for a PRV patient unable to access usual clinic in London due to mobility problems (unrelated to PRV) and if so, what company provided this? very many thanks.

venesection at home?
hello LauraH1982, I don't know of any companies that do this, sorry, but I would suggest that you speak to the clinic and explain the situation about being unable to get to the clinic and ask if they can give you any suggestions/help on getting a venesection. Kind regards, Maz
I wondered if any of the district nurses could do this? Best ask the clinic/specialist nurses.
thank you so much, really appreciated, already did but unfortunately they are unable to come to house
You say you have difficulty reaching your usual clinic in London. Is there a different hospital near you that you could visit?
thank you so much but unfortunately issue is patient has lost mobility recently, totally unrelated to PRV, so unable to get to any clinic
I don’t have any experience of your venesection predicament but I would think a venesection may only happen in a clinic type setting. If the main clinic won’t refer to a local hospital for venesection could the GP influence that process?
My experience of attending local outpatient appointments with an immobile relative involved hospital transport that could take a trolley. Thankfully that was a rare occurrence. When the relative became able to sit up we arranged for an all dancing and singing wheelchair which was required as part of their care anyway and (via the clinic) we booked hospital transport that could take the wheelchair and two carers. The main problem with hospital transport was often a long wait for the trip home afterwards so we changed to hiring a specialist taxi service which we could book for a set number of hours. It worked a dream for both patient and carers.
I do hope you manage to cut through the obstacles you’re facing. It’s not easy trying to manage the care and treatment for someone so vulnerable.
thank you so much for such a kind thoughtful post and the ideas and good wishes, v much appreciated 💐
At the start of my PV journey I wanted the whole process to impact on my life as little as possible, including the round trip to the clinic at the hospital every week.
I tried everything to get it done nearer to home - at cottage hospital, at my GP & was refused at all those places, apparently not set up for it -
I suspect more the risk of excessive bleeding after or blood clotting during & not being able to deal with it away from main clinic.
The person needs to contact their specialist clinical nurse at the hospital to ask for their help & advice.
Patient transport could be an option?
