Does anyone have experience/info about Lumbrokinase?

"Lumbrokinase (LK) is an enzyme complex with antithrombotic, antioxidant, antitumor, and immunomodulatory effects." International Journal of Nanomedicine

I was diagnosed Jak2 positive two years ago, at age 61. I am not on any drug treatment, but taking a herbal medicine mixture, mushroom (Wood Ear), and Turmeric. My platelet count is slowly decreasing, and I am not suffering any other serious symptoms, except occasional visual disturbance.

I am aiming to continue decreasing the platelet count and my herbalist suggested asking whether anyone here has any experience or knowledge about using Lumbrokinase in supporting the effects of Essential Thrombocythaemia?

Many thanks!

Hi Greenlace,

No, I don't, but I found these:

thieme-connect.com/products...

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lumbr...

trialsjournal.biomedcentral...

What brought up your questions about it?

Best regards,

PA

Hi PhysAssist,

Thank you for looking those up and sharing. I've read a good bit about the properties of lumbrokinase now though nothing yet that matches it specifically with E.T. I hadn't heard of it before; my herbalist suggested asking if any one here might be using it as a supplement. Thanks again!

I have heard it might be good to bring platelets down , but no experience of it .Don't know if you have read my posts from z couple of years ago (probably not!)

I tried for a long time to avoid conventional medication. You might be interested in having a look .

Still taking medicinal mushrooms ,cbd oil and some vitamins and iron.

Do let us know how you get on.

What where your platelets when diagnosed and pattern of coming down ?

Best wishes to you

Hi Mostew. My platelets were between 750 and 800 when I was diagnosed in August/September 2021. They have been steadily in the mid to high 600s for the last year. It's not a huge decrease, and still well over the desired range, but I do hope to keep chipping away at it...I have been on the same herbal mix, medicinal mushrooms and turmeric dosage since Dec '21 and expect my herbalist is thinking we might try something new to see if a further decrease can be achieved. I will look back on your posts for sure! I hope you are keeping well and many thanks for being in touch.

You are doing well. As long as no worrying symptoms I'd be happy with those platelets .
