Neutrophonics?

My wife's platelets dropped from 1280 to 600s over two years. The last test was a sudden and welcome drop to 350 thanks to HU. However, at the same time the neutrophil count dropped to .83 The GPs are blind to ET matters and the only source of info is a helpful nurse in the hospital haemotology dept. We need an MPN specialist but they where, in the far southwest of England can we go?

Neutropenia at 0.83 is a significant concern. The cutoff we use for a change in treatment in my case is NEUT<1.00. Many MPN Specialists now acknowledge that there is no particular value to having PLT<450. Some use 600 when a numeric target is used.

You are correct to think that you need to consult with a MPN Specialist ASAP. here is a list. mpnforum.com/list-hem./ It is worth it to travel to see a doctor with the MPN expertise needed.

Wishing you both all the best.
