Hello all, I have been on Besremi for 6 months having excellent blood results. This past 10 days I started with bloating ,constipation and gas. Anyone had these issues? I have put a call into my Hemo team waiting to hear back.
Have a great day!

I have not.
I have not experienced those side effects on Besremi, but they are listed as possible.

Hope you get this sorted out ASAP.
I’m really sorry to hear that. I have been on.Besremi since October, and my thrombocytes have not gone down that much. The only thing I noticed is a bit of joint discomfort, or I have had previous injuries.
I do hope that your system are being caused by something else. For me, the biggest bloater was wheat and rye and white beans, even if they’re prepared and cooked properly.
I really hope it’s not Besremi! 🙂

I haven’t had those issues from Besremi, but have been on miralax for years. And it has always helped, maybe not with gas, but great for constipation.
I have been experiencing GI issues on Besremi. As Hunter noted, it is a listed side effect. My GI said that all interferons are known to be drivers of IBS. 🤷♀️
I have not had those issues and I’m doing 500mcg
Hi Josup26,
While I have not had any discernible side-effects from my Besremi injections, I haven't gotten any stable reduction in my counts or Hematocrit either.
In fact, my Hct drawn yesterday had rebounded up to 51% despite my last Besremi injection being the 2nd time at 350 mcg just a week ago.
Good luck with the side-effects, but don't forget that because those symptoms are pretty much non-specific, even though they're listed as possible side-effects from the medication, it's pretty unlikely that they'd just pop up now after the previous 6 months of treatment without them- unless your dosage just changed dramatically.
Instead, they could represent any number of other less concerning things- like a viral GI bug, change in diet, or just a blip in your microbiota- any of which can be exacerbated by stress.
God bless and good luck,
Best,
PA
I thank you for the reply,
I do think my GI issue was a fluke as I felt better in less than a week.
I'm sorry to hear you are having difficulty bringing down your HCT. I did have the problem when I first started Besremi. Then with my Hemo we started more aggressive approach. I had phlebotomies along with 200mg of Besremi. Over all I think I had 3 Phlebotomies then my HCT dropped to 36. At present my Besremi has been reduced to 100mg and my HCT holding 38-41 for 4 months.
I hope you find some cocktail that works for you.
