hello

My husband is taking aspirin as he said he was getting like a pressure like feeling in his forehead he thinks that the aspirin has helped with that. However there has been a couple of bruises appearing one on is leg and one on his arm. Is this normal im just soo worried and his next bloods are not till June ?

thanks for your reply I have messaged the nurse but they aren’t very good for getting back. My fear is I hope it doesn’t mean progression.

Increased hemorrhage (bruising/bleeding) is a side effect of aspirin. I experienced this in the past when my platelets were more elevated, which also increases risk of hemorrhage. Aspirin can definitely help with MPN microvascular symptoms like headaches. Aspirin is a medication where we have to determine whether the benefits outweigh the risks.

All the best.

I take aspirin and often get random bruises which take ages to fade. One of the many side effects of an mpn and aspirin.
