I haven’t received any contact yet about my antivirals I will be chasing it up
My question is , What’s your opinion about taking antivirals and would you consider taking them if needed I’ve read that sometimes the long term effects can be ongoing

The antivirals are considered effective. In particular Paxlovid against serious results. But many patients taking other meds cannot take Pax. The next option is molnupiravir, which is not as effective against serious results but can reduce the length of the illness.
You may be referring to the rebound effect where the Covid returns after taking Pax. From what I've read Pax is still very beneficial even with this possibility. The rebound tends to be more mild.
The antibody treatments are no longer effective against the main variants, at least in the US, so they are no longer authorized here.

I had covid awhile back and did very well taking Ivermectin. It's frowned upon because it's too cheap and doesn't make money for the pharmaceutical industry, but it was effective and had no side effects. I also have never had any covid jabs.

Do you have some trial data on this therapy? The largest study to date (TOGETHER trial) did not show a benefit.

Thanks for the reference. I checked all the citations briefly. I don't see large randomized controlled clinical studies. And the TOGETHER trial (double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled with 3500 pts) is missing. This is the largest quality trial I know of for IVM. So its absence gets my attention.
This also is a concern: "In a meta-analysis of 63 studies of ivermectin versus COVID-19 in humans, 100% of these have shown positive results. " Nothing in medicine or life is 100% so it suggests a bias.
Also from TOGETHER, 100% is not reported here: "More than 60 randomized trials of ivermectin for the treatment of Covid-19 have been registered, and findings have been reported for as many as 31 clinical trials.5 The results have been discordant, and various review groups interpret the evidence differently — some advocating for benefits of ivermectin, and others reticent to conclude a benefit.6-8 However, most trials have been small, and several have been withdrawn from publication owing to concerns about credibility"
While I don't see evidence that would incline me to use it, it does seem safe in normal use and it's not for any of us to advise treatments.
There is promising info on famotidine, another common drug that could be repurposed. Some small trials like this randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled one show a benefit. I actually bought some early on and I would take Fam if I caught Covid again. My bias to this one may not be rational, and there is no large trial similar to the TOGETHER IVM.
I took Paxlovid a while back and was over Covid quickly with no lingering effects. Worked for me!
Just seen this. I had Paxlovid in November, because, as well as MF I have immune deficiency, and that is the reason I qualified for it. It worked well and cleared Covid within 5 days. I was left with a severe chest infection, but that is normal for me when I get any kind of cold or flu, and that cleared with normal antibiotics. No side effects. If you cannot reach the hospital, ring 119 in the UK as they deal with Covid and can access records which show if you are clinically extremely vulnerable. You will then be contacted by a doctor (normally within around 24 hours) who checks your current medication and decides which antiviral is suitable. The medicine is delivered by courier.
For the record, I emailed my hospital as well as calling 119 and they contacted UCLH (the main antiviral centre in London where I live) and I was contacted by the doctor the same day. I had my antivirals the next day.

Couldn't get hold of the anti virals, you need to start them within 5 days to really benefit...
Definitely YES! I took them and they work very well. After week I was out of Covid19. Chase it, call Oncology emergency, they are very helpful.
HI sweetpea19, yes I had Molnupiravir, I tested positive for Covid on 23 Nov and had the Molnupiravir delivered the next day, I am absolutely sure that they helped with the symptoms of Covid. I hope you feel better soon. Best wishes, Maz
I had COVID in October, was poorly with very high temperature so rang 111 and was eventually prescribed Paxlovid. It was brilliant, I felt better within a day and COVID cleared after a week. I had to wait 24 hours to get the Paxlovid though as the hospital dispensary was unbelievably closed for the weekend.
