Switch from HU to Pegasys - update 3.0

Great news from my haematologist:

Platelets down from 395 to 337, Hb 153, Hct 0.447. Liver, thyroid and renal profile fine; so too neutrophils and lymphocytes!

So, after nearly 15 months of HU, I’m stopping it as of today and carrying on with 45mcg Pegasys per week. She hinted I could eventually switch to Besremi, assuming it’s available for ET this/next year.

She also found the Dec ‘21 article EPGuy posted (by Drs Hassebalch and Silver) about chronic inflammation as a driver for MPNs and highlighting possible combination therapies with statins, etc., very interesting. She hinted that there’s a lot of research at the moment with regards to immunotherapy, and so on, clearly with a view to eradicating malignant clones - and there she lost me, I’m afraid: I am but a humble musician!

That’s fantastic news, and such a quick response too.I think a congratulatory twirl is in order...both bars!🤗

Haha - thanks! Confession time: I’ve ‘switched’ to Jaffa Cake bars. 😆I was wondering what a ‘quick’ response might look like. I’m 8 doses in and was starting to worry the platelets would still be in the high 300s, so maybe two months IS regarded as ‘quick’ after all?

Thank you so much. I feel as if I’m getting my mojo back now. As Manouche was kind enough to say, here’s hoping for a molecular response next!
