Afternoon all,
Has anyone who takes Hydroxicarbamide yet taken Lagevrio ( also known as Molnupiravir)? I don’t have Covid. This is a question posed to me by someone else who is worried about side effects.
Thanks, Louise

If you may consider an anti viral, Molnupiravir is not that great, only 30% efficacy.

In rare cases it can cause abnormalities in <<hematology (hemoglobin, platelets, and leukocytes)>> Not so great for MPNs.

Some studies found Molnu no better than placebo.
If you have access to Paxlovid, that had much better effect, ~90% and its adverse effects do not seem to include Hematological. Liver and kidney impaired patients can be a concern same as with many of the meds we already take.
Good idea to discuss with your Dr.
Thanks so much. The Molnupiravar is the only antiviral that the gp stocks ! They’re really a bit hopeless with rare stuff. There is a question of compatability of Paxlovid with levothyroxine and loratidine - both of which I take, and Robapreve contains l- histidine which is a precursor to histidine and I have histamine intolerance!Still, will pass on your info which is jolly useful to all !
Thanks for the details, always learn new stuff on the Voice.
I do see this long list of interactions

it seems to enhance Loratadine. Anyway it clearly needs expert's attention to use.
I m going to take my chances. Don’t intend to take any antivirals after a run in and severe consequences with Nitrofurantoin.
Had my 4th booster yesterday with no ill effects ( beginning to wonder if it’s had any effects at all!) However, I don’t intend to lock my myself away and have just booked flights to Malta in April. Fingers crossed no more variants…….
