Hi Ive recently started peg injections put on a low dose of 45ml, for those who are on peg how soon or late can the side effects be expected or are the majority of you well on it? Im fine so far but wondered if this was the calm before the storm, wasn’t really told much when I went to hospital what to expect but guessing on the whole this is different for each individual many thanks!

Peg injections side effects?
I’m having weekly injection of Pegasys 135 for about 8 months. I feel great from day one after the injection with no side effects. It feels for me like some sort of high dose of vit C injection, rejuvenating !
I have been on peg for two years . Started on 45 mg weekly but down to every three weeks now and all levels normal now . Had no side effects from beginning . I inject in stomach and use EMLA cream on injection site beforehand . Never feel a thing ! Cream from over counter at chemist . I was apprehensive at first as I hate taking medication but best decision I made . Suits me fine , bloods are under control, minimal itching and I feel well . I hope it suits you too ! Good luck
Thank you for this post and to the people who have answered. Just had call from hospital myself telling me to go in for face to face appointment as they want to start treatment and hoping to be offered Pegasus so very interested in any comments. Very encouraging,
I've been taking weekly pegasys shots for about 4 months now at 90ml and I have flu like symptoms for the first 24-36 hours afterward. I also have had some lower back pain. I'm so glad to hear that you haven't experienced any of the side effects. Much luck and prayers to you!
Sorry to hear of your symptoms and hope in time these pass for you! I had a good first few days but now the week is nearly up some of the symptoms before being diagnosed starting to come back pain in the back, legs & pelvic area waking up hot and in pain early hours, guessing each and everyone is going to react different, take care keep safe and stay as well as we can!
Yes as you say it's different for every person. I felt so much better after my first injection. The first year I took paracetamol, within 1 hours I felt very tired. The night of my injection I usually have a good nights sleep. First injection was 2016. Good luck.
Strange you should say that because the first night after having injection had the best nights sleep ever! Best wishes.
