I had initially attempted to book it at a vaccination centre but couldn’t because my NHS records show the 3rd primary dose as a booster. Phoned my GP to enquire about it as the required 12 weeks had passed since the last one and was pleased to discover that they were extremely well informed about the 3rd primary vaccination and subsequent 4th booster. I was told that they are unable enter the 4th dose electronically as the system doesn’t allow it yet, but she simply completed a form saying I was at ‘high risk’ and…job done. So relieved.

Well done Garstongirl! I have heard nothing about how to get my 4 th vaccination , the 3 months being due on 4 th January. I’m now concerned to hear briefly on the news that the Government are saying 4 th doses are not needed ( for the elderly) I didn’t hear any reference to immunosuppressed blood cancer patients. My GP’s didn’t take part in the 3rd Vacs, so I’m not holding out much hope from that quarter. It is very worrying.
I rang the pro care line myself as 3 months had passed and I had heard nothing from my GP They checked my records of vaccine status and said yes they would book me my fourth for next week . Having read other posts on here I think you have to push for things yourself if you can so I heeded their advice and it worked
I googled my local area and procare came up for help with appointments I’m not sure if it would be the same wherever you are . Sorry I can’t be more helpful
My surgery didn't administer the third dosesceither as there were all the vaccination centre running at the time. I rang then recently though, and informed them I had had a 3rd dose of Pfizer (recorded as a booster) and they booked me in as soon as they could, with no questions. If you haven't rung your surgery yet, I would try contacting them first x
I was pleasantly surprised to get a letter from the haematology department at the hospital, especially as 12 months ago at my appointment I was told that having an MPN does not make me clinically vulnerable 🙄 I’ve not heard anything from my GP.
The local pharmacist is running the clinics where I live. My 91 days aren’t until Thursday. I had a chat to the pharmacist last week and he said to pop along to the next clinic, which is at the weekend and they’d sort me out. He was suprised we couldn’t book out boosters online
I've not had a letter saying I'm due my booster but 91 days was yesterday. I've never had anything from NHS for the 1st 3 vaccines (all came from my GPs) but now the GP has posted on fb that they have no stock & anyone due should book through the NHS online.I've looked & found a chemist locally who States they are accepting immunosuppressed for 4th (booster) doses as walk-ins but to take proof so will try this tomorrow.
I had occasion to visit my GP surgery for my blood test today (my in hospital appointments being understandably moved to phone call in January). I therefore enquired about the GP invitation to get my booster. I was 83 days since my third primary vaccine on 12/10/21and according to the NHS website I should receive a letter from my GP or hospital inviting me for my booster so that I can have it when eligible at 90 days , which is now this week. The surgery told me letters were not being issued for our boosters and there were no walk in clinics currently scheduled, and to call 119 to book or get their assistance, or contact a local hospital and ask them. I duly called 119 who informed me that I can do nothing without my GP letter as stated on the website, and therefore will be unable to attend any walk in clinic until I have this letter. As this was contra to the advice given earlier in the surgery, I phoned the surgery to relay this circular referral. The surgery told me to write to my GP. I have then written a letter to my GP which then had to be dropped off by hand as their online consult is unavailable except for limited hours because of vaccination, absence and COVID pressures. We will see what happens next. It appears GP and 119 are not being told the same things as to how the fourth vaccination should work.
It all seems a little hit and miss in places, and as someone else has commented, I think sometimes unless we initiate some things ourselves it may not happen. I mentioned it at our GP's on Friday and they said I can have a 4th booster when my three months is up later this month.
I rang my GP last week to say that my 4th dose was due on Sunday..and I hadn’t heard anything…after consultation with the Practice Manager, they rang back and said I could attend the clinic on Saturday ( yesterday) …as others have said…we need to be proactive , otherwise we seem to be forgotten. I am also intending to ring 119 tomorrow as have heard nothing about being sent a PCR test or access to antivirals.
I applied for a PCR test online through the government website You can apply for one to be sent to your home even if you have no symptoms or not tested positive on a lateral flow
They had none left but I tried the following day and duly had one delivered the next day so it’s worth giving it a go I have just received a letter yesterday informing me that I could be eligible for antivirals if tested positive ….I think they are still sending letters out .
I was up at the surgery on 5th and asked about my 4th jab which was due then. The receptionist said she didn't know anything but I'd have to have a letter stating my vulnerability (like I've been vulnerable for two years; what's changed?) So I rang the hospital and they said a letter had been sent to my GP on 30 December. I suppose with the holiday and everything, any letter received would not have triggered any kind of reaction. I got some results online of a recent scan on Friday but my GP hasn't rung me about that either. I really need to see him because I was holding off on my prescription until those results came through. There isn't a good way to contact the surgery except to sit on the phone and listen to recorded messages for half an hour before you can get through. It's annoying to get results on a Friday so that you can't do anything over the weekend. I don't have anything to prove I've had my third Pfizer either and I wonder if it matters in any way.
So glad you got your 4th dose. I am wondering should I be getting a 4th dose, I have ET jak2 positive on aspirin only. I did receive the clinically extremely vulnerable letters last year and had to shield but I understand I won't be getting the letter re the pcr test. Unsure about the 4th dose, I had the 3 rd dose 29th september so over 3 months. Just a little worried as work in a hospital with a lot of staff/colleagues going off with covid.
I’m ET CalR+ on aspirin and Hydroxy and also received all the clinically vulnerable support. I’m just happy to accept any vaccinations going if they help me to live longer! 😂
Yes definitely would love to get the 4th dose but just being on aspirin only does that mean I'm not entitled to the 4th dose ? Haven't received any letter to have one and 3 months ended 29th December, but listening on here it sounds you have to initiate it yourself. Don't want to bother GP if not entitled.
I’m also ET CalR on just aspirin & received all the clinically vulnerable support. Had my 4th on New Year’s Eve. My GP has been brilliant with the whole vaccination thing! Also like you-if it helps me to live longer . . . 😊
I didn’t receive a letter either which is why I eventually contacted my GP directly. If you received the ‘clinically vulnerable’ communications throughout the lockdowns you are obviously on that list already. I was prepared to send him all the information from Blood Cancer UK/MPN News if I had not had a result, but the surgery seemed very well informed. Terrible that it seems to be a postcode lottery to access treatment!
Update on my previous reply - I've just been to a local walk in & got my booster (4th dose) with no problem. As I didn't have a letter saying this was due I showed the consultant's letter saying I had previously been due a 3rd primary dose & this was accepted.
I am glad you all managed to get the 4th jab. Where I live I feels like I am forgotten totally. I have not been offered anything, not the first, second or third but I have been fighting to get it through work. If I was offered a 4th vaccine, I would be very surprised!
