Does anyone have any definitive information about when those of us who have had three primary covid doses should be seeking to get our boosters? Best wishes everyone. Stay safe xx

That’s the same date I had mine. I will be acting on my assertiveness skills at the beginning of January!

Well, interestingly, my NHS app covid record now shows '3rd dose' whereas it previously showed 'Booster' - which is encouraging.

I had my second Shingrix jab last week and raised the point of 3rd dose vs Booster, I was advised to wait 3 months from my most recent dose and then contact the GP practice manager if no further progress or information was occurring.

That’s good. Mine is still showing as booster, so not confident of being recalled. 😏

Same here - keep checking and hoping for it to be updated. The lack of any information and guidance is so difficult. My booster is due Christmas Day. I’m desperate to get boosted before returning to work as a teacher in January. Hope you have some luck soon too!

The NHS booking site states:If you’ve had the 3rd dose for people with a severely weakened immune system, you’ll be eligible for a booster dose 3 months (91 days) from your 3rd dose. You cannot book your booster using this service yet but your GP or hospital specialist will invite you for your booster dose when it’s due.

I hope that helps but perhaps not so helpful if the 3rd primary dose is recorded as a booster.

hi all, the information on the Government website is the same as the NHS website, as per the info from Rem31:

The information currently available on the Government website is that : Your extra (third) dose should be given at least 8 weeks after your second dose. After that you will also need a booster dose to extend your protection – this should be given around 3 months after your extra (third) dose.

You can read the full advice here, this was published on 1 Dec, I would advise that you continue to check the Government website for updates.

Thank you all for giving your views of the Booster. I enquired yesterday at my surgery, and was told that at the moment they are concentrating on the 3rd vacc for everyone! So much for us. I am going to try to get definite information from Guys.

We are just as entitled to boosters as anybody else surely?

Thank you all for your comments. I had an NHS text telling me it was time to get my booster a couple of weeks ago. I wonder what would have happened if I’d gone ahead and booked it?

Had my booster last week after having 3rd primary dose 12 weeks ago. I contacted local commisioning group . Good luck all seems to be a lottery .

Blood cancer uk says your booster or 4th dose should be 3 months after your 3rd. However, I had my 3rd in October and should be eligible at the beginning of January too. I have started to make enquiries and already hitting problems, so best to start following this up early. The 119 system has recorded my 3rd primary dose as a booster so I cannot book on line. This has been reported to the Data Resolution Team but will take many weeks to sort out - so past the time for my 4th. GP says cannot do anything as they no longer have access to amend and they cannot book because they will be unable to update the system afterwards because the system shows I do not need another vaccination. Haematology informed me that they were unaware of the difficulties and had no answers. I have written to my CCG - no response. So, I would start shouting about it now (it took 7 months for me to get my 3rd primary dose and time is not on our side). I hope you have better luck than me.

Hi MW,Yes I have experienced a similar problem with booking a booster.(4th vaccine)

Apparently if your 3rd primary vaccine was recorded as a booster, it would only be retrospectively re-coded as a 3rd primary dose.

Blood cancer UK do not yet know how close the NHS is to re coding these vaccines.

Also ,they do not know whether this process needs to be done, in order for the 4th dose invite to be triggered.

I’m not sure all the local GP’s are aware of the 3rd vaccine situation, due to a general lack of communication with doctors and patients.

Work in progress ,hopefully 🤞🤞

Take care

Bobbie

Hi everyone,

I have telephoned Guys today and got an appointment for my 4th Covid vac on 11th January. They were so helpful - unlike my GP or local hospital!! Goodluck everyone.

What part/department of Guy's did you have to talk to? Glad to hear it went well!

Hi Beetle,Thanks for letting us know the booster Info.

Presumably you phoned the haematology department?

I’m fairly confident that they will get in contact ,if tricky to book now.

Guy’s have been excellent ,to date ,regarding the vaccine.

Take care ,

Bobbie

I just had my booster one week ago. I am taking PEGASUS at 90umg/week. Got 102F fever second day. Then everything is normal on third day. Good luck with your booster.

I was told that after my third dose I would need a booster in 3 months under the present rules.

I called the CNS Helpline at Guys - and they have booked me in for my fourth vaccine in January when I go up to see Prof. Harrison.

I live in the US and my third vaccine was recorded as a booster. Has anyone in the US received a "third" vaccine as opposed to a booster?

Many thanks,I was going up to Guy’s this week, but it’s now changed to a phone consultation (Covid etc) I’ll try the CNC Helpline next week for the booster booking.Take Care,Bobbie
