Leukaemia care/NHS antibody trial

Has anyone else seen the NHS antibody trial for cancer patients, it came in an email from leukaemia care I tried to sign up but two questions are

Are you on blood thinners?

Do you have any excess bleeding disorders like haemophilia?

Both questions discount you from applying

Shame as would have been good way to monitor antibodies after the vaccines but obviously most of us with MPN’s will be excluded

Just wondering why the blood thing excludes us?

Having read the FAQs, aspirin and clopidogrel are discounted as blood thinners. And I'd imagine any bleeding risk from ET or PV are pretty trivial as far as a fingerprick test is concerned.

Further...... I just tried to sign up, but because I am retired, I find I'm ineligible. DOH!

Thanks Andy! Didn’t see that about aspirin, I’ve now signed up, actually have another go yourself, it says in the notes at beginning that the application form is wrong & excludes non working in error, to say you are in work then tick ‘other’ it’s being fixed Thankyou for your help Melanie

It's been "fixed"

I get as far as Save and continue.... then nothing happens!

It seems about as easy to sign up as it is to get petrol....

Yes I signed up and I am awaiting my antibody test pack. I was a bit unsure when it asked about blood clotting diseases but thought the reason might be because you may have trouble getting enough blood out for the test. Decided go give it a go anyway, mine seems quite runny when I get a blood test!

I've searched and searched for this, could you post a link? I'm specially interested as I came up negative for antibodies 6 weeks after my first vax. Thanks Jo

Thanks, I've just filled it in, I think. I'll see what happens, it would be great to know if I've any antibodies, if I have then I won't be bothering about a third vaccine.

It says this test kit only tests if you have had Covid 19? Not antibodies to the vaccine"Or am I looking on the wrong section?

The survey FAQs say:

Two tests are performed to determine antibody levels in your blood. These will look for a combination of antibodies in your blood, either generated from previous infection with COVID-19 or through the vaccine. You will get a result of your overall antibody result.

Thank you. I’m not sure I was in the right place I couldn’t get past the occupation question, ‘other’ was greyed out.

I can't get the form to work either - gets to the Save and continue button, which does sweet FA

I've just managed to get past the Save etc. issue by not saying I was part of trial or survey, which probably means I'll be deemed not to qualify.

Weary sigh of resignation...

I said no and got to the end. Then it says if you are eligible you will be contacted which could take 5 weeks. I’m not holding out any hope! If I am contacted it will probably go into my junk folder so I’ll never know. 😆

Update - I have just received text with code & successfully ordered the test! There’s a few errors in the original form, you have to say you are working then put other as occupation but I know that didn’t work for AndyHave another go if you can, it is possible just a bit testing!
