No sure if this will help anyone.

My husband has been diagnosed 3 years ago with ET Jak 2 at 42. He has suffered with headaches quite often and feeling very tired. He was getting quite depressed about the whole thing, as it was a really struggle feeling exhausted all the time. . For the past year he has completly cut out sugar and any food which contains it. Since he very rarely has a headache and feels tired. His symptoms calming down quite a bit really helped us as a family. He's much happier now.

Diet is so important isn’t it …

Well done him!! I try to limit sugar. Magnesium deficiencies are sometimes linked to sugar cravings.

Diet affects so many different aspects of our lives. How we fuel our bodies is sooo important

A note from the peanut gallery: I've always enjoyed my ice cream and other sweet treats. While I still indulge a little bit, I have cut back dramatically by savoring a single dark chocolate "promise" after one or two meals per day. I hope it helps!

I agree with Anniepops. For your body to metabolize 1 molecule of sucrose your body uses 28 molecules of magnesium and 56 molecules of magnesium to metabolize 1 fructose molecule. Fascinating eh! Plus magnesium is so important for hundreds of enzyme reactions that affect everything from bones and blood sugar to nerves and brain cells. The human body really is amazing .

I always love the quote, “ Humans are the only species clever enough to make their own food, but stupid enough to eat it!”

As many others here have found, changing ones diet (ie: less processed stuff to more natural foods) can have profound health benefits.

Sugar is definitely no good for us. I strong believe that a healthy diet helps our conditions a lot, since we have to keep our cholesterol and weight down+ the rest. I have cut our sugar and watch out for fat and sodium intake, watch out for saturated fat etc etc

Thanks for sharing that experience. I have cut down a lot on refined sugar, but still eat plenty of fruit. I also try to avoid artificial sweetners
