I started taking hydroxyurea about 20 mo ago. Is it possible to have developed somewhat curly hair as a ‘side effect’? It’s wonderful! Ive never had curly hair before, I’m 70yo. This med is the only change I can attribute it to.

Curly hair side effect?
I did and it looked lovely! When I came off it my hair grew straight again.
Well that's a new one on me. I know HU can affect hair, but never heard of that. Usually makes it fall out. Just goes to show we are all different in how we react.
Yes. My hair was curlier when I was on HU and has noticeably straightened since taking ruxolitinib instead. I thought it was just me!
I think you are right, I had not thought about it. My hair had already a slight wave but now after going on HU is becoming more curly. Love it !
Oh goodness me! I was on hydroxy for a short time and had to stop because of feeling unwell and increased hot flushes night and day. I re started HRT and all those have practically stop so I will give hydroxy another chance as the alternatives seem to have worse side effects. I pray I won’t have this curly hair side effect… I’m curly as a lamb (a ewe) 😜 already!
Yes I believe that's true - seen it before in chemo patients on re-growth...
So funny! Yes, I had not made the connection. My hair has totally gotten curly after being only mildly wavy before.
🤣🤣I have to pay for a perm to disguise my hair loss
My hair has also gone curly, I have only been on hydroxcarbamide for 2 mth I am 70
Yes, curly hair for me too.
Lol. I have very curly hair, so wouldn’t notice, but loving everyone so liking the effect 🤣🤣Hated my curly hair when I was younger, so wanted straight hair… now very happy with it though 😄
