Have ET Calr positive and Jak2 negative. RDW-CV going up

Hi Everyone. ET CALR positive, Jak2 negative. Just got blood test results again. My Platelet count dropped from 656 to 561 which is good news. Steady drops. But my RDW-CV has gone up the last three blood tests. on 05-28-2021 it was 18.7. On 07-092021 it was 19.7 and on 07-26-2021 is was 20.7. I have an appointment for blood and oncologist again on Aug.6 th. What's going on with the RDW-CV numbers? Is there anything I can do to lower them? Thanks everyone

Start with understanding that the RDW test measures the distribution of width of your RBCs. healthline.com/health/rdw-b...

You can have a wider variance in the size of RBCs for a number of reasons. One of them is being on hydroxyurea. HU induces macrocytosis and elevation of RDW is common.

On Hydroxyurea for 1 month platelets went from 818 to 823 RDW went from 14.8 to 15.6 Jak2 V617F positive quantitative value 10.8 I seem to be going in the wrong direction. HELP
