I have been on here in awhile. I do get on the forum often.
I was diagnosed in 2013 with ET and Jake positive. I started aspirin and not long after that Hydrea. I'm not having any issues with Hydrea, just don't like taking it.
I started having issues with with my colon. Two weeks ago I had to have surgery for severe diverticulitis. I've been through alot with this miserable stuff. I had 12 inches of colon out and abscess. With prefermation, I am on the mend and doing good. I know it will be a long road.
Has anyone here on the formun had this problem before?

Hi Wilma66. Im also Et jak2. Take hyrea a d aspirin. Im 61. Last year i had my first sever flare up of Diverticulitis. It was bought on by sever food poisoning. I was in hospital for a couple of weeks but extremely ill for a couple of months. I still havnt gained the weight i lost at that time. I never had surgery but am wishing you well. I suffer on and off with slight flare ups now. Xx
Hi, Wilma, sorry to hear of your ordeal. It sounds awful. I have Post Et Mf, also Jak 2 positive. I was diagnosed with IBS a few years ago, but instead of taking medicine, I changed my diet completely, and went off sugar, dairy, and gluten. My problem cleared up. I’m now on a regular diet, but my yen for sugar went away, and if I eat too much starch, I get a stomach ache. . I would talk to a nutritionist and find out what you should be eating for the future.I hope you continue to heal and I wish you a complete recovery.
Hi Wilma I have been on hydrea for many years due to finding out I had a blood clots to the liver and put under the care of a consultant gastrointestinal Dr my heamatoligst gave me a list of treatments hydrea being one of them which I opted for they do make you tired but my consultant says if I could have a nap in the afternoon and felt a bit nauseated but my gastrointestinal consultant put me on domperidone and I have never looked back and that has been many years I have been on hydrea yes I have other ailments but the hydrea keeps my platelets well under control so keep going with itYou stay safe
Any other information just let me know was in late twenties when diagnosed with et jack 2+and now hyperthyroidism and ibs but always happy maz and your selfStay safe
So glad to hear you’ve had your surgery which sounds very unpleasant. Hoping you are feeling a bit better each day and will soon make a good recovery and be free of the dreaded diverticulitis. 🙏🙏Fran xx
