I have been seeing a hematologist for a few months now. Diagnosed with ET JAK+. My platelets started out at 800. Was started on a baby aspirin a day. I also have high blood pressure and a few other things going on. I was then started on Hydrea 500 mgs each day. I go every 2 weeks for labs. Each time my platelets would decrease by 20-30. My blood has been super thick making it hard for them to draw blood sometimes being jabbed 5-7 times. Here’s the good news. I went Wednesday as I normally do and my blood pressure was a perfect reading 120/80. My blood flowed freely, only one jab. And my platelets went from 656 to 521. That is 135 difference. Don’t know why the big difference . My hematologist is happy with the results and I now have to get labs done monthly. The only thing that happened differently was I got the first Moderna Covid vaccine. I feel better. The headaches are gone and the brain fog isn’t as much as it was.. Praising the Lord for good results.

Nice to read some good news. Good to hear your feeling better
Congratulations, hope things stay on track.
Interesting to read about your blood pressure dropping. Until a few years ago, when my ET probably started I had low normal BP. Then it started to slowly rise until it hovered around 140/90. Five months post diagnosis and medicine to bring the platelet and red blood cell down to normal, my BP is now down to the standard readings and sometimes down to my old normal. I wonder if thus is a common result of bringing the blood cell counts down to normal.
