Pegasus side effects

I just switched from Hyrdox to peg very small dose of 0.2 mil and had very bad sharp stomach pains for the first few nights around the belly area. Has anyone else had this and does it resolve over time.

I’ve been on Pegasys for 8 years and have never experienced this. Suggest you speak to your doctors in case it is something else that’s causing it.

my initial side effects were flu type symptoms. No stomach pain.

I had my third peg injection yesterday. The first week I was quite nauseous, also had stomach cramps one evening, which were resolved by a trip to the bathroom! 💩 Since then I haven’t really had anything else, occasional short lived headache, been to to the toilet a bit more often but otherwise ok. Fingers crossed it stays like that. 🤞🤞🤞Hope all goes well for you.

I've had what you described intermittently a few times on Peg. Passed blood once. Had a colonoscopy after one of the times and they didn't see much but possibly mild colitis. It went away though. This doesn't mean it will for you. Everyone reacts differently to these drugs including intensity of reactions. Keep a close eye and keep your doc apprised.

Can I ask why did your consultant switchyou from hydrox to peg, read a lot of people are on peg but I never heard of t before joining this group,I'm on hydrea a year and still trying to control my platelet levels so just wondering

I had been on Hydrea for about 12 yrs and was anaemic for three years. I had a BMB and was put on Pegasus in January this year. Dr said Hydrea was cause of anaemia. I seem to be a lot better and have not noticed any side effects. Platelets were always very high but they are comming down gradually now.

I was never able to fully take Hydrox due to side effects and Mayo is having me switch to Pegasus. They say that has become their first line of defense now versus Hydrox as it has an actual cure rate or reversal of the disease itself where Hydrox just help control the platelet count. I was getting major fatigue when I tried to step up my Hydrox but its hard to say what’s the drug and what’s the ET.
