As a current TCM student, I wonder would that help in what ways? Actually, from my knowledge, Chinese rhubarb and Turmeric would be more helpful in reducing the number of cancerous cells and there are other herbs that can better resolve blood clothing ......
Very interesting. Some herbal supplements can be very helpful. I have had great success with Curcumin to help control inflammation. The problem with herbals is in quality control as there tends to be little oversight. It is really important to find a reliable source.
I have a philosophy about these supplements. If something can help you, it can also hurt you. If something is biologically active enough to make a change in your body, it can interact with other things you take. I am open to these complementary health interventions, but always mindful of the the potential for harm as well as benefit.
Thanks for posting this.
Your thoughts very welcome I so agree. And am always careful to source the best. I take curcumin as well. Also. Cbd oil.SO want to get platelets down......
Always told as a child I want doesn't get!!!!!!!!!!!
There is some evidence that Curcumin can work in the JAK-STAT pathway to induce apoptosis, but it is not confirmed. I am taking Curcumin with a different expectation. I know for a fact it is a very effective anti-inflammatory. It works better than any NSAID I ever tried. I just attended a Webinar with Drs. Mesa/Jamieson/Petit where they addressed the issue if inflammation in MPNs. The short version is that chronic inflammation releases enzymes that promote the progression of cancers. Reducing inflammation is definitely very important in managing MPNs, both for symptom relief and reducing risk of progression (just my opinion).
All the best my friend
Very reassuring to hear above .I’m taking a liquid capsule . I agree about reducing inflammation . How disciplined are you re. Diet ? ( I should imagine very??!!! )
I am pretty disciplined about diet. I pretty much stick to a Mediterranean/anti-inflammatory diet. Lots of fresh veggies, limited carbs. only whole grains, more white meats and fish than red, but still eat red meats too. Avoid contaminants in the food stream, pesticides, hormones, anti-biotics, BPAs, xeno-estrogens, etc. That is not to say I eat no junk food, just not much. Avoid processed foods like the plague that they are. Well, except for bacon. Bacon is an essential food group, just in limited quantities. Dark chocolate is another limited quantity essential. It is loaded with anti-oxidants. Those are good for you!. So regarding diet, I do endeavor to make good choices, but still allow the occasional Five Guys Burger every now and then.
Hello ... Just thought I would offer some guidance here ...if you avoid processed foods like the plague ..why do you eat bacon ?.. it is one of the main processed meats ...(high contamination there is )....plus any amount of bacon is considered dangerous to eat (it falls under the description of red meat)
Also it is not part of the essential food group ...I am really involved with nutrition, always researching and have learned a lot through research....of course you are free to eat what you choose but you are kidding yourself if you believe your diet is healthy ...hope this is helpful to you ... if not ignore ... Lainie😃
I'm butting in!!!!Think he was saying. A Bit of what you fancy does no harm.
I trust he knows that balance and wouldn't kid himself.
Mostow is right. I know bacon is not good for my body, that is why I limit it. I have given up a lot of the the things I like in the interests of health, but sometimes engaging in a food vice just makes me happy. Likewise with dark chocolate. Blueberries are certainly better for you than dark chocolate when you want some anti-oxidants, but chocolate if one of life's great joys. Again, in limited amounts. My approach is to keep the bulk of my diet healthy and free of things I don't want in my body. I allow some food vices simply because it makes me happy to do it. I just limit how much of that I do. So call it a mostly-healthy approach to diet.
