Hope someone can advise or has had the same issue to assist?
I have ET and have been stable on Peg interferon for a few years now but my last couple of blood test shows my platelets are dropping, my latest has dropped below the average?
I am waiting to hear from my specialist as only just had a call from the nurse with my last blood results who has raised her concerns.
Hopefully he will say I only need to lower my dose of peg and all will be well again but has anyone else had this happen and what was the reasons for it happening?
Thanks All

I am hopeful someone will respons to this soon. I'm wondering if these posts are going through the regular website. I haven't seen one in a while, and I used to get them daily.
The simplest and most hopeful answer would be that that the PEG-IFN is working so well that you now need a decreased dose. Perhaps you are one of the lucky ones who experienced molecular and hematologic remission. Since you have a change in MPN Status, it might be a good idea to recheck your mutant allele burden if you have a baseline for one.
It is great your Platelets have lowered and hopefully reducing Interferon will sort this.
I am having a similar experience. I have been on Peg Interferon for 18 months and my platelets are down wonderfully but in the last few months my haemaglobin and white cell count are down to below normal range. Haematologist has been slow in reducing my dose of Interferon , I had to push them to consider lowering the dose. I have gone from weekly 45mcg to 3 weekly 45 mcgs and still my heamaglobin is low. I think it is a good idea to keep an you keep an eye on your heamaglobin and white cell count as well as Platelets.
