lowering platelets naturally
a diet including good dark chocolate and wine in SMALL amounts is good for us , but ,along with other , potentially platelet lowering things nothing natural worked for me
I tried for 2 years without meds…
I still follow anti inflammatory way of eating and take supplements.
hi, can you outline the basics of your anti inflammatory diet? Thank you.
hi RazB, you might be interested in the MPN Voice Recipe Book we produced last year, which is based on a Mediterranean diet which has anti-inflammatory properties. The recipes in the book were submitted by MPN patients and were all assessed by an oncology dietitian at Guy's & St Thomas' Hospital, you can purchase a copy via Amazon. The book also has lots of other very useful information about the benefits of an anti-inflammatory diet, and some patient stories.
I can’t answer that I am afraid but red wine and dark chocolate are 2 of my favourites so good excuse to have a bit more. Will let you know😂
if you read Mediterranean diet & use that as your food guide. High carbs & fast foods & additives to avoid . 👍
Very simple food. Fresh (mainly. Organic frozen peas spinich useful, tinned Tomatoes, seaweed dried, .....)I eat organic chicken a couple of times a week, freeze the rest to have over several weeks , so doesn't work out to expensive even though chicken is expensive.

Wild salmon and sardines , lots fresh veg.
Lots of garlic ,ginger ,cumin ,coriander
Tamari miso tahini (small amounts )
Nuts . Dates . Seeds hemp seeds .
Dahl. Hummus small amount goats cheese a week . VERY small !
Kefir, kombucha saukraut . Homemade
Apples , watermelon , berries.
Buckwheat . I make a nice fermented Buckwheat groats bread . So easy ...

I could go on!! Hope you get the idea.!
Salad in summer ..
Let me know if you have any questions
I’d love to see your buckwheat groats bread recipe please 🤩 I’ve a wheat allergy so I usually keep off breads since the GF breads usually taste like styrofoam. 🌸
I agree, I’d like that info too. I haven’t got a wheat allergy but I def know when my body has had too much of it!

it’s not everyone’s taste but my daughter and several friends who eat wheat like it.
I’ve found using a little kefir or yogurt instead of some water helps rise. Also ferment longer.
I use hulled hemp seeds
When toasting Toast two or three times makes it much nicer.
I don’t miss ordinary bread at all since making it…
Slice and freeze ..
let me know how you get on
I have just read the recipe…delicious! I know what I’ll be doing tomorrow! I’m not entirely sure what groats are, but I’m on a mission to find out! Thank you x
thank you so very much for including that recipe. I mostly gluten-free except for a couple of cheats, and I’m always happy to find a good bread recipe especially if it’s fermented! I am definitely going to try this.😊
I made this yesterday…disaster! It looked and tasted like soil!! I must have taken a wrong turn somewhere…need to try again!
Oh dear. How disappointing. Can you send me phot . Or is it in bin already! Also tin used . Etc . What did you use to grind buckwheat and mix ?
It really is so easy but as with all cooking can go wrong easily to
That's what it should like
no it definitely didn’t look like that!! It’s in the bin sadly. I think I left it in oven too long the first time (fell asleep!) so it was hard when I took it out rather than light and airy. The recipe said to “pour” it into tin after the 7 hrs (9 for me 😴) but I had to scrape it into tin!! I’ll have another go over weekend and report back!
I've tried all kinds of things. Nothing has worked. I do eat a good anti-inflammatory diet and have most of my life. My last experiment was saffron as it has been shown to lower platelets and hematocrit. It didn't work. My platelets and hematocrit are the highest they've been.
