Hi, I had my flu vaccine last weekend - no reaction except for tenderness on my arm due to bruising. Like you I am jak 2+ and take aspirin and hydroxea daily. My specialst nurse strongly recommended the flu vaccine but advised against the pneumonia one. I am still considering having the pneumonia vaccination.
Hi why did your specialist advise against the pneumonia vaccine? I was booked in for the flu jab Saturday and when I was walking out the door he said actually you are on the list for the pneumonia jab as well, so I was given that and assumed it would be okay?
I’ve just had sore arms as both were used for the jabs.
Speak to your gp if you have any concerns but provided you have no reason not to take it, ie allergies to ingredients then I would expect they would 100% recommend you take it
Hello marimar - I have previously always refused the flu jab, but thought it would only be sensible to have it this year - having checked it wasn’t a ‘live’ vaccine I went ahead and have had no problems at all. Anne-Marie.
I had flu vaccine last weekend Saturday, bit of temperature Sunday, arm a little tender but otherwise I was fine. I have ET jak2 I'm on hydroxcaramide, clopidogrel diagnosed 2017
Hi, had my flu jab as normal back in September, and was advised by my Haematologist in July to get the pneumonia jab he felt it was a must and that it is a one off injection not like the flu one which is every year, had no side effects from either, just a bit of a sore arm after the flu jab.
Hi, I've not had the flu vaccination before but went in for one on thursday. No reaction, felt fine. Did check and not a live vaccine so in most cases should be fine. Hopefully give us some immunity.
Surgeries are offering it to all the elderly first. We had ours some weeks ago and no ill effects whatsoever. According to "the science" there can be no ill effects because the vaccine contains no live viruses.
I have been getting my flu shot for many years-decades. Never any reactions at all. just got my first age 65 and over vaccine (4xdose). No reaction to it either. I would way rather get the vaccine than the flu.
