Hello. I am 64 and diagnosed with PV 5 months ago. Have been injecting with Pegasus interferon for 4 months. Initially I appeared to have minimal side effects, but over the past few weeks have been having increasing periods of dizziness and a fuzzy head. Does anyone else recognise this side affect? Thank you

Dizziness
Dizziness is one of the known side effects from Pegasys. You can also get dizziness from the PV. It is hard to sort out what it what sometimes. Other meds also have this side effect. Some meds potentiate each other when it comes to side effects. Suggest checking all of your meds for side effects, checking drug interactions, and talking to your doc about what you are experiencing.
Ellipops, sorry to hear. Ive been on 45mcg weekly pegasys for a little over 7 months. I definitely go through the occasional period of dizziness lasting several days sometimes - including even brief mild nausea at times, and even when its largely gone I tend to have a continuous low level of dizziness. Folks on this forum recommended staying hydrated - not sure how much water I can drink!
Im thankful my dose has been able to stay this low - seems like the more serious pegasys side effects kick in at the higher doses. Thankfully my numbers have been responding well at this level for the time being. If its unbearable or if the pegasys isnt actually helping you’ll want to talk to your haem.
