Nitrofurantoin on male of 29

I was getting pain in the lower right of my stomach so I phoned NHS24 and they made me a appointment at the out of hours assessment centre in Kirkcaldy at the Victoria hospital I was checked over but they wanted a urine test but couldn't go so they said they wanted to admit me and do some test and scans and found out that it is a urine infection so I got nitrofurantoin to take twice a day for a week but I also have runny poos what is causing this

Have the runs happened after taking the antibiotics? Can be a side effect!

This a great medication for UTIs. I was on a higher dose tham you as had to take x4 daily for 3 days.this classed as a short course. Can be taken for a week if need be. Not sure why you had to go to a hospital for this. Usually treated at a GP. Loose bowels could be a side effect? Like a lot of meds.
