I rang my GP to ask if I should get the ‘flu jab - and get a script for it as I do every year - this year because of my recently diagnosed PMF I qualify for free vaccine! Part of me still rebels being labelled as having a ‘chronic illness’ or having ‘reduced immunity’ - part of me says ‘Thanks very much!’

Hi MKS60, yes one of the benefits of having a MPN is getting a free flu jab each year, also, exemption from prescription charges if you are prescribed medication for your MPN and pay for your prescriptions, you can get an exemption certificate, you need to get a form, FP92A, signed by your haematologist and send it off to receive an exemption card. Best wishes, Maz
I get the flu jab every year, I don't pay now because I'm an old biddy, I've also persuaded my husband to have it every year in case he gets it and passes it on to me. Waiting for a Covid vacccine to become available now!
