Can anyone tell me of their experience with flu and having ET. I'm always exhausted as it is but do I need to worry if I get an infection of any kind ? Seems to be my chest and aches and pain
Thanks in advance

Everyone is different, call your doctor. Trust your body.
When I'm on Hu, I don't get sick. My friends and I joke that the chemo kills all the germs that try to enter my body! 5 of my 6 kids & my husband had the flu for 18 days in September and I didn't get sick. One plus of my Hu!
I am the same as Blessedwithsix. Haven't had the flu since I started taking meds for my ET, guess having an MPN isn't all bad
why not get a flu jab jic?
Yes my GP has put me on the list so I get a flu jab each year. I think it is worth it. I do tend to pick up infections.
I'm in Alberta, Canada so the situation is probably different, and also a senior, so I get flu shots automatically each year; and my doc also insisted that I have the pneumonia shot, all of which are free here. I am very glad to get those shots as the flu is spreading here quite fast and we can't afford to contract it when our immune systems are compromised already. Stay healthy, friends!
I don't seem to get the bugs flying around that other people tend to pick up either and I too have secretly suspected its the Hu (or ET as I was never one for getting ill prior to starting Hu). I recon any bug with any sense doesn't want to use me as a host ha ha. I get the flu jab automatically every year as I work for the NHS and they are pretty hot on their staff getting immunised. Don't get me wrong Ginny11 I still experience symptoms of ET but not as much now that I am on Hu, and we keep my counts well managed.
