I have just had my telephone appointment with my haematologist, my bloods were slightly worse than my last appointment he said, but ok for now. I meant to have asked him, because I have PV jak2+ am I high risk ( I keep hearing different opinions. And when lockdown eases, should I still self isolate or/and wear a mask if I go to a shop again ( haven’t been in a shop since before 11th March

Hi Yvette, you do need to ask your haematologist this question for his/her advice on what measures you should be taking, to keep yourself safe. Kind regards, Maz
Hi Yvette, I too have been staying out of shops and away from people. I had my bloods done a week ago and my white blood cells are below normal, as they have been for a couple of months. We are adjusting my hydroxycarbomide to see if we can better regulate this. Before we go back I will have another blood test and if my bloods have not improved then my haematologist will write me a shielding letter. I seems decisions are being made on an Individual basis, so I would recommend that you formulate a clear plan with your healthcare team. All the best. Penny x
Depends on your age treatment and any other health problems. I am classed as high risk by Haemo cos of age but haven't had a letter. I shop and walk dog x
