Just wanted to say had a call today from GP to say I will receive a letter to tell me to shield. I already had a letter from hospital 9 April! They will now release my detail code to supermarkets to enable vulnerable category for deliveries. Think whole thing strange as without letter from hospital I could have been shopping etc for last 3 weeks. I also asked if they could alert me if I can go out earlier than 3 July and she felt these dates will be extended? Will have to see I suppose

Shielding notification
Hi Jenny,
My guess is that we will be amongst the last to be 'let out' as we are considered to be at highest risk.
Stay safe
John
I haven’t received a letter, but missed a call yesterday from what looked like one of those scam callers. When I played the message back it said it was the national shielding hotline, and that I should register my details using a link on the letter or call them back and do it. The way it was said and the sound quality sounded so much like a scam call and the voice was a very poor recording of an unprofessional sounding male so it made me I very sceptical. Having never heard of the national shielding hotline I googled it and got a nhs document that somewhere within the 12 pages mentioned this hotline and the number that had called me. I have been following guidelines but calls sounding so dodgy at a time we are hearing about scams was worrying.
I too never answer calls from numbers I don't recognise. I say if they wish to speak to me they will leave a message. Very few do. So when number 0333 3050466 called I ignored it. No message left. The following day I received a letter asking me to sign up to the Govt register for extremely clinically vulnerable people. It gave advice and went on to say I would be contacted to discuss my food and wellbeing support needs and quoted the above number.
I did get a further call several days later.
Cheers - Chris
