Hydroxycarbamide to interferon injection and side effects

I am 50yrs old diagnosed with ET Jak2 positive 2 yes ago. I was on 500 and 1000mg of hydroxycarbamide and platelets lowered from 950 to 550 however stopped working platelets started to rise and I had dreadful mouth ulcers and soreness. I've been on 90ml interferon weekly for 6 weeks now and had suffered a sinus infection and flu symptoms since starting on the injections. I feel I have flu constantly achy and skin hot. I've had 2 lots of antibiotics. I'm due back to clinic in 2 weeks. Has anyone experienced side effects and do they wear off?

I am 46 and have been on 90mls of Interferon for 3 months. I have had flu like symptoms and a sinus infection. I’ve also been getting very hot. I feel like I cope with the side effects better when I’m less stressed. In fact, I’m on holidays at the moment and the only side effect is a metallic taste and slight headache the day after injecting. I have read that it could take up to a year for the side effects to subside. On a positive note, it’s lowered my platelets significantly.
