Happy new year Stephen. I’m sure I speak for many of us when I say we are looking on v concerned about the fires in Australia. I hope it gets under control soon. Jacquie x
Happy New year to you too.
We're very concerned for you in Australia at the moment with those raging fires.
Take care .Lynda
Congratulations on your achievements -such determination you must have.
I so hope you get some cooler, wetter weather in Australia- the pictures are horrific. Just unimaginable that that could be happening to such a beautiful country.
Hey Bluetop...
Thanks so much for your encouragement...
Yes, we are just getting some light rain and slight relief in temperatures over the past few days across the south east coast and many parts of NSW...
However, Friday will see us back into the 40ºC temps' yet again...
Now over 1588 homes have been destroyed just in my home state of NSW...
What a season... Heat & temperature records smashed all over the place... Yet our political minders continue to err on the side of big mining in Australia... One truly wonders how long such insanity can continue to hold the global paradigm of money & the economy first... (?) Penrith at the foot of our Blue Mountains was pronounced as the hottest place on the Earth, (by some commentators), the day it recorded 48.9ºC... Astounding really!
Reminds me greatly of a prose piece I once wrote about a train passing through the high country with a wild party 'in full-swing' & all onboard were completely oblivious to the fact that a major bridge ahead had collapsed, and they were hurtling towards their doom... Yet the music and laughter became ever louder ...
Realisations as such, sometimes I do find it a challenge to "shake it off..." so to speak...
However, I shall keep chipping away as best I may...
Thank you Bluetop...
