It's that time again. Blood tests and waiting. I now go to my go for routine test 2 days before hospital appt. Still get the knot in the stomach when waiting for results. Off for appt with consultant on Thursday. Keeping fingers and toes crossed.
My new 4 month old pup keeps me busy. Tired ok but now on more short walks than ever. Am completely work free now. Which I know is lucky.. I think being on my own is the hard bit .. try not to think of it . Pup keeps me busy..fingers crossed for Thursday.. my HU journey continues 😊

I think most of us are apprehensive at our appointments. I was at the clinic last week, everything is fine. I get so used to that reply - I’ll be so shocked when, or if, it isn’t.
It must be hard being on your own. But it’s lovely you have a dog, I miss mine so much. They are wonderful company.
Well platelets up.. got results from the Drs. So expecting an increase in HU dose from 11 tablets to 12 a week.. seems to be the norm . Roller coaster journey.. chin up I tell myself. 😀
heathermec- hope your results will be good-I have experienced this many times as had bowel cancer (CT scans etc, etc) 4 yrs ago-now have ET-now- more blood tests and results !!Can't seem to get away from blood tests !!
The thing I have learned in managing my MPN (was ET now PV) is to not sweat the changes in platelet numbers. They are always going to go up and down. Unless you are having active symptoms of thrombosis or hemorrhage, splenomegaly, TIAs etc - then the absolute platelet numbers are not indicative of your risks. The MPN Specialist I consult with does not attempt to "sanitize" blood cell number. He treats patients based on their actual symptoms. This is a a different approach than what many docs do in trying to "normalize" lab values, but more docs seem to be adopting this approach.
FYI - I never wait for my CBC results. At the hematology clinic I go to they give them to me within 5 minutes of the blood draw.
Well my meds haven't changed.. so I hit the marks and spencers food outlet after getting my prescription. Dr thinks I've a viral infection as I. Sneezing and dry throat.. back in 4 weeks..
Tucking into a fresh cream cake.. thanks for your comments.
