Diagnosed with PV last year and take small amount of hydroxy, things have been fairly stable since. But seen a doctor in August who confirmed my spleen was palpable and referred me for a c t scan . My question is how long do results take to come back. The test was last week. Many thanks to everyone who posts on heat as it really helps.

Where I work cat scans are read in 24 hours or less. I do xray and cat scan. Call your ordering physician and ask if results are ready.

I work in imaging/radiology and the images have to be reported on by a radiologist... pending on the priority of the scan the results can take up to 2 weeks.

I have never had it take more the 24 hours. The ordering doc has to clear the results for you to get access to them in most places. Sometimes that can hold things up.

CT results don't take long to come back depends if you have to wait to see a consultant for results .

You could maybe ring your gp next week to see what the results are.

thanks for the reply I have just seen the consultant who said my spleen is 3cm below coastel margin, he thinks with good blood results I should take 1 more hydroxy a week and be seen again in 5 weeks time.
