Flu vaccine while taking 20mg Jakafi

Has anyone here gotten the flu vaccine this year while on 20mg Jakafi

Ask your doctor cause I had the same question and he told me no cause they have to look at your blood work first to make a determination.

I had the flu vaccine on Monday this week, and have had no problems so far. I am on 25mg Ruxolitinib. SkipperL

I checked with my haematology department. They said yes have the flu jab although it's not quite as effective when on ruxolitinib but added that it's better to have reduced protection than none at all. They said no to the shingles vaccination even though ruxolitinib increases the chances of getting shingles. Hope this helps everyone.

I am in Australia, I have had the flu jab for many years , been on Jakavi ( 20mg twice a day) for the last three years. Can't have the shingles shot because it is a live vaccine but I believe there is a non live vaccine called "Shingrix" available in the US.

Yes in Canada and the US the Shingrix vaccine for shingles is not live and therefore okay for us with an MPN to take. I’ve had mine; no problems at all.
