Brilliant News

Hi everyone, I just wanted to update you all about some brilliant news I received on Friday...

I was transferred to The Christie a couple of weeks ago once I had finished my IVF treatment with the plan being to have my transplant there and my new consultant did a re test of my bone marrow and it turns out somehow i'm not sure how exactly but my blast cells have decreased back down to normal levels, which means I know longer need to go ahead with the bone marrow transplant :)

I've been writing a blog and there is a lot more detail on there about exactly what happened if anybody is interested in reading in.

Finally I just want to say thank you all so much for all your support I don't know what I would have done without this group :)

  • Hi Jennie,

Having had a bone marrow biopsy on Monday and taken this week off work as holiday I have had more time to read. Although I always read the questions and comments on this site, I have only just read your blog. It got me thinking as to how you are now as you haven't posted anything for a while. I hope you are continuing to keep well.

    Kind regards, Judy

  • Hi Judy,

I'm really well thanks i'm still visiting the hospital (i'm now at the Christie) every 4 weeks and they are keeping a very close eye on me. All is well so far, ive slowly been gaining weight and my platelets are at there best ever level for me at 502! at my last appointment :) I've made a lot of changes to my lifestyle since everything happened I now only work 30 hours a week instead of 50 and even better i now work for a charity as their fundraising officer, my dream job!! so every cloud really does have a silver lining :) fingers crossed your biopsy results are ok, I'm sure they will be :)

    Take Care
