I can only give you my own experience. When I was diagnosed with ET many years ago, I became very light-headed and dizzy. I felt like my heart was racing. I went to a cardiologist and had a full work-up. Everything was fine. I learned after a while that it was all connected to my ET. I would still follow Maz’s advice and check it out.

I have not heard of a link between ET and tachycardia. I did develop paroxysmal atrial tachycardia about a year ago. It was unrelated to my PV. It was related to an electrical problem with my heart. Corrected by catheter ablation surgery. Please be sure to consult with an electrophysiologist re. the tachycardia. It may be a minor issue related to something else - or ay be an early warning of something more significant. Note: not all of our ailments are MPN related, but it always makes sense to consider the links. Even if "unrelated" one issue can affect the other. All the best to you.

Thank you for your reply. I did some research. Found out my lifestyle had become more sedantry. Started walking for 6000 steps as a start. I find that heart rate has gone down to 105 in 5 days. Hope to keep at the exercise now and keep checking

Better cardiovascular health will help no matter what the underlying issue is. That was precisely the advice from my cardiologist. There re a few other things I have found helpful. I have started practicing Qi Gong (aka Gigong) and Tai Ji Quan (Similar to Tai Chi). These are both an alternative form of healing (Eastern tradition) as well as good gentle exercise, stretching and balance improving. I find it lowers both heart rate and blood pressure. I would still hope that you will see an electrophysiologist to rule out something electrical going on with your heart. Something like a low grade supraventricular tachycardia is something that can be dealt with in a variety of ways. You want to pay attention since these types of issues can progress into something more serious like Atrial fibrillation. You might also want to purchase device called a Kardia (my doc had me get one). It is an FDA approved single lead ECG device that interfaces with your smart phone. You can run your own ECG and it can distinguish simple sinus tachycardia from aFib. Also can provide your doc a better database of what is going on with your heart, FYI - if you are JAK2+, you might want to look into the research on the link between JAK2 overactivation and inflammatory cytokine overload. That is responsible for many of the inflammation related secondary issues people with MPNs face. ALl the best to you.
