Stem cell transplant

I just wanted to let everyone know that I made my decision and I’m going through with a SCT. I have been seeing a transplant doctor at Dana Farber in Boston for about a year and he feels I’m strong enough now to have one. Now we have to find a donor and I have to start making preparations. We are shooting for April or May.

Hi, yes I think it’s finally getting there, not quite clearing the plate but almost.

Some days are better, some worse……par for the course I reckon! I posted just after I was discharged so will leave it for a while..All the best to you too.

Good choiceI'm 64 and got diagnosed with Primary Myelofibrosis July 2023.. After eventually seeing the stem cell transplant team they were very confident in finding me a good match.

They found a doner a 100% match.

Ive been through a lot to get to where I am now and very glad and lucky to have had the transplant.

I'm confident they will find you a well matched doner..

I live in Newcastle England.. My transplant was carried out at The Freeman hospital Newcastle.

I’m 68. That’s one reason why I’m doing it is because two different transplant doctors told me I could lose my window of opportunity. I was diagnosed with post ETMF in 2019 and my risk is intermediate/high according to the scoring tests.
