Recently i have experience updown blood counts,i had continued to drop down in blood counts after four months of phlebotomy but CBC results up and down since last 10 days
Before 10 days my CBC shows
HB-16.9(range-13 to 17)
Hct-47(40 to 50)
RBC-5.1(4.50to 5.5)
MCV-93(80to100)
MCH-33.70(27to32)
MCCH-36.2(32to 35)
WBC-9.6(4to 10)
Platlates-398(150to450)
I did my CBC today after 10 days as per my hemotologist instruction and results are
HB-15.5(range-13 to 17)
Hct-45(40 to 50)
RBC-4 88(4.50to 5.5)
MCV-93(80to100)
MCH-31.90(27to32)
MCCH-34(32to 35)
WBC-8.9(4to 10)
Platlates-311(150to450)
I speak my doctor about todays results and he says don't worry bcs initially blood counts are updown in secondary polycythemia after vensections but not in primary polycythemia.
Has anyone experiencing updown blood counts?

I perhaps would have expected a Venesection at the first CBC with the HCT levels but generally there isn't a massive movement in general. Often the bloods counts can move about a bit but as all levels have reduced together I would just wait for next CBC. I'd definitely advise use of an app to track results, helps see a pattern as plots graphs. My husbands results can be a but erratic so helps to see things more clearly.
Hi Vigiindia, I have ET CALR and my CBC goes up and down all the time, despite regular meds, etc. I’m a hopper. Blood counts go up and down on a daily level. Tests also vary from day to day. I don’t see a significant change, but then again, you didn’t let us know how they were (ie) 2 months ago. I write my blood work on a chart, where I can follow my blood work over time. I also take notes regarding my period, sleeplessness, infection and any other relative event. That’s easier to see also for your doctor. I hope I have helped. Have a lovely weekend. Anag
Hi Vigiindia, It is good to stay of the heavy meds for as long as possible. I wish I could avoid them! It is still important to see how environmental influences are affecting our BC. Since I have Hashimoto, I had 2 blood tests yearly for 20 years before my diagnosis. It was a crime that my doctor (A good friend and uni. prof. of med.) didn't take my high Thrombos seriously. This is why they say, never go to a doctor who's a friend, they see too much or don't believe it when they see something wrong, cause you're happy to see them and smiling. They were increasing at 60,000 yearly!!! Because I had kept track, I was able to find what triggered my illness and other things. The blood was changing all the time, a bit up, bit down. Just the thrombos were steadily moving up. Cheers!
Hi Vigiindia, I am curious to know if you "did your own CBC" as you have written or been to a medical facility to have blood taken by a professional and tested in a lab? Hopefully the counts will settle satisfactorily for you soon. Good luck, Turfbeg
Hi, I have primary PV, my levels go up and down quite a bit. Your results look good, especially your platelets. My results fluctuate with my anaemia, my platelets being particularly effected.
