Hi
I’m just trying to find answers to some challenging symptoms. I’ve seen the Gp today and had some bloods taken.
At varying times over the last few years I’ve had a great deal of strange symptoms such as tingling fingers, hands and feet, strange cold/ burning sensations, itching (not recently though and mild numbness . I was diagnosed and treated for asthma and things improved but I’ve had a few bad flares with asthma over the last few months. Started a new inhaler in jan which is brilliant but did have a really bad virus about 8 weeks ago that resulted in oral steroids and a while to recover. I had my second son 11 mo ago.
The tingling numbness has been getting increasingly bad over the last few weeks, esp last week. Tiredness and weakness too. It was really bad on sat night after some alcohol; I couldn’t sleep. Slightly better after a big drink of milk. I’ve seen the Gp today and he is checking some things in bloods. I’m hypothyroid but I think we’ll replaced.
I had been querying is calcium levels were an issue as I’m breastfeeding. He thinks unlikely.
I forgot to mention I do notice my hands can be very red.
I’m posting here as a few years ago when I was very bad with these symptoms, I did wonder if I can get secondary polycythaemia. It was a few weeks after a bad chest infection (pre asthma diagnosis) and I did also have lots of itching especially after showers. I’ve found I can’t tolerate hot baths often.
My heamocrit is often slightly out of range. In 2016 i had terrible abdominal pain and loose stools and these were the results of a blood test: (see pic)
It could be dehydration I know. I just wondered if anyone was diagnosed due to paresthesia?
